Meet the Artists

Juliet Maya is a Colombian-born artist based in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Her work explores the transmutation of emotions, interpersonal relationships, and the profound connection between human beings and the nature. Maya’s practice frequently engages with themes of motherhood and its social burdens, examining these experiences across generations and within global contexts. Working across painting, drawing, and textile processes, she uses material and gesture as tools for exploration and expression. Informed by her professional background in marketing and communications, Maya brings a strong awareness of visual language, narrative, and audience engagement to her artistic practice. She is also a mom, loves to go on walks and eating ice cream.
