Where Artists Thrive and Community Connects with Creativity

The Rivoli Arts Building is La Crosse's home for working artists—a vibrant creative ecosystem housed in the historic Rivoli Building in downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin. We're not just providing studio space; we're creating an economic environment where artists can make a living from their craft while making art accessible and visible to our community.

  • Mother is an Adjective by Juliet Maya

    411 Gallery | April 3 – May 31

MOTHER IS AN ADJECTIVEis a mixed-media exhibition that explores motherhood as a fluid identity shaped by language, culture, and lived experience. Through painting, drawings, textiles, and collage, the work reflects on ideas, actions, and moments often associated with motherhood—acts of care, strength, sacrifice, resilience, exhaustion, and invisibility—and how these concepts shape expectations of mothers as a collective personality or identity, a copy-paste experience. Presented at the Rivoli Arts Building in La Crosse, the exhibition invites audiences to encounter motherhood as the complex, layered, and evolving human experience.

Free and open to the public.
